World Sinus Health Awareness Day 2023 is September 13

World Sinus Health Awareness Day 2023 will be commemorated on September 13, 2023 as an initiative designed to enhance global understanding and education regarding nasal and sinus symptoms, their causes, and the range of available treatment options. It also highlights when patients should consider seeking specialized care.


World Sinus Health Awareness Day is an annual event sponsored by The American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS) in collaboration with corporate partners Medtronic and Optinose. Educational information about sinus health awareness issues can also be found at sinushealth.com.


Its primary objective is to facilitate public access to valuable information that will help individuals understand their unique path towards improvement with treatment options for a spectrum of nasal symptoms, disorders, and diseases.


Rhinology is a specialized branch of medicine that focuses on diagnosing and treating diseases and disorders related to the nose, nasal passages, and sinuses. This field encompasses a wide range of conditions, including allergies, sinusitis, nasal polyps, and tumors, as well as structural issues such as deviated septum. Rhinologists may use various diagnostic tools, including endoscopy, and they often work closely with otolaryngologists (ear, nose, and throat specialists) to provide comprehensive sinus care for patients.
